Mescal knife
There is little lifestyle change from previous periods. The
diet of a Transitinal Archaic Texan was similar to that of
previous periods. New projectile point types replaced old
ones. As in modern society, styles were temporary, Painted
pebbles from this period appear to represent people or
spirits.
While traveling, each man carried an atlatl and darts, snare
equipment, fishnets, a sleeping mat, a robe woven from
strands of rabbit fur, and a bag of flintknapping tools, flint
flakes and blanks, etc.
A woman carried a net carrying bag, bone awls, a mescal
knife, a digging stick, and her sleepmat.
Often the Indians would set up a large net and several
people would spread out and walk, waving their hands
and yelling to scare up rabbits, and chase them into the
net.
